Coco Reef wins another prestigious Travel Award The Condé Nast Traveller Readers Choice Awards are considered by many as the world’s most prestigious rating of hotel properties. They are based on an index of customer satisfaction with a range of hotel facilities and services scored out of a maximum of 100. This average figure is used to provide the overall satisfaction rate as a percentage. Coco Reef was rated eighth in the Americas and the Caribbean category, which includes Canada, The United States, Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. Coco Reef was rated ahead of such internationally famous resorts as Malliouhana Hotel & Spa in Antigua, The Ritz-Carlton Marina Del Ray in Los Angeles, Delano Hotel Miami Beach and Alvear Palace Hotel in Buenos Aires. Coco Reef’s overall rating was 90.72, just 0.09 behind the fabulous Pierre Hotel in New York. In the World’s Top 100, Coco Reef Resort Tobago was rated the 34th Best Hotel in the World, and amazing achievement for an independently owned property. John Jefferis, owner of Coco Reef stated “the recognition we have received in the 2003 Condé Nast Traveller Readers Choice Awards is further proof that Coco Reef and Tobago are World Class Destinations.” He added “although we have over US$50 million invested in Coco Reef, our guests tell us that the one thing that sets the resort apart from other hotels is the friendly, courteous and professional staff. This award is a tribute to our wonderful staff and our highly motivated and professional management team. In these days of boring multi national chains, I’m proud that the staff at Coco Reef have been recognised as being exceptional. It is also important that we recognize the incredible work done by the Tobago House of Assembly during the last two years to provide excellent, quality Air Service from Europe, and to market the destination so well with limited funds in difficult times. Our heart felt thanks go out to Chief Secretary the Hon. Orville London and our ubiquitous Secretary of Tourism the Hon. Neil Wilson, for making Tobago the successful tourism destination it is today.” The Coco Reef Resort in Tobago is the Caribbean most spectacular resort. Set at the end of a palm lined driveway, in ten acres of beautifully manicured tropical gardens it overlooks the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea and its own exotic white sand beach. A recently completed US$3,000,000 renovation included the complete rebuilding of the foreshore and extending and widening the beach. Additionally all the rooms and suites were refurbished to provide even higher levels of luxury. |
